About HAZECO — Hazara Electric Supply Company
The Hazara Electric Supply Company (HAZECO) is a government-owned electricity distribution company (DISCO) in Pakistan. It was officially established on 6 January 2023 by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, after separating from Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) to serve the Hazara Division independently.
HAZECO operates under the regulatory framework of the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) and manages electricity distribution across two circles — Hazara-I and Hazara-II — with its headquarters located in Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Like other DISCOs such as PESCO, IESCO, LESCO, MEPCO, and K-Electric, HAZECO operates within the national electricity infrastructure formerly managed by WAPDA Pakistan.
